For as long as I've been able to write, I've loved composing stories and articles. That love for writing combines with my education, experience and dedication to high quality writing to make for the best.
Since the fall of 2003, I have been working full-time as a freelance journalist, copywriter and editor. My work in freelance began a couple of years before that while still in college. Pairing my organizational skills with my writing skills, I have formed a successful business called Written Creations, LLC.
I have both a B.A. and M.A. in journalism from Ball State University and have had nearly 850 articles in various local, regional, national and international publications. I continue to polish my skills by reading industry news, including various books and publications. I belong to writers groups and networking organizations to enhance my writing and business skills. I teach courses at local colleges and universities to stay on top of my craft.
Though writing is my first love, I truly enjoy every aspect of the creative process, including research, photography, layout and editing. All facets of my work are important. I work with copywriting clients to produce a wide range of professional communications such as brochures, business letters, Web site text, training manuals and more.
As an extremely self-motivated person, I push myself to perform at the best of my abilities. I work until I know I have produced the best possible product for my client whether the client is a large corporation or a small non-profit organization. And I will make sure the project is completed on time.
My office is based in central Indiana, but I work with clients throughout the world from the United States to United Kingdom and enjoy the diversity being a freelancer brings.
Hiring a freelancer provides benefits both in creativity and ideas as well as monetary benefits.
I bring a fresh perspective to your company projects, whether creating something from scratch or improving upon an existing concept. Sometimes an outside perspective is all a project needs to take it from good to exceptional. My professional writing and editing experience give me insight into what works well and what doesn't.
My professional design experience works the same way. I can help enhance your company's image by maintaining professional written works -- both for content and for layout.
Not only will you get a professional, high quality product, you also can save money by working with a freelancer. You only pay for my services when you need them. You also don't have to pay me for vacation, sick days or benefits.
By producing material that is professional from the beginning and at my very affordable rates, you can't afford not to work with me!
You receive one no-cost, no-obligation consultation over the phone or in person, if possible. I will share my ideas for your company's project. We'll discuss finances and deadlines. Every job is different, so quotes will be made within 24 to 48 hours after the initial consultation. My fees are reasonable and competitive.
Once the details are outlined, we'll sign a simple agreement outlining the timeframe, responsibilities and investment. In general, one-third of the contracted amount will be due upfront with the balance paid at negotiable checkpoints.

Dont just take my word for it. Here is what some of my clients have to say:
What we admire most about Stacey is her ability to craft easy-to-read patient education articles about very complex medical topics. From conducting interviews with leading international researchers and clinicians to working with newly diagnosed patients of all ages, Stacey's work is featured prominently in our magazine, usually as the lead story. We recommend her highly. She's met all deadlines, kept expenses down and produced a series of superb articles. I personally like her down-to-earth approach to helping patients. She's truly a gem!
Jill Osborne, M.A., IC Network President & Founder
Stacey Shannon of Written Creations, LLC, is a very professional editor and writer. Her input and editing on my manuscript greatly enhanced the finished product. I would highly recommend her to others and would gladly turn to her for editing in the future. She is a fine and enjoyable Christian young lady that God has already and will continue to bless."
