General
I often marvel at the power of the Internet and ponder what my life was like before it. In my writing and research, I use the Internet daily. In my personal life, I use the Internet daily.
Many of us are so used to this tool that we don’t realize how much we do online. I decided to make a list. Here goes:
- Check e-mail
- Connect with friends through social networking
- Connect with colleagues through social networking
- Find new freelance opportunities
- Research article ideas
- Research article sources
- Research issues my family encounters
- Look up recipes
- Read daily devotionals
- Purchase photos
- Purchase other items (gifts, books, photo books, clothing, etc.)
- Sell items (hello, eBay!)
- Download clip art
- Chat with my husband
- Check the weather
- Check the traffic report
- Look up directions to and from places
- Calculate mileage for my business expenses
- Write in my blog
- Update my Web site
I’m sure I’m forgetting some things, but it’s still much more than I expected. What do you do online?
I’m looking forward to getting to know you through this blog. I’ll share information about what I’m working on and include tips about writing and marketing.
As a freelance journalist and copywriter, most of my time is spent alone with my computer in my office. I’ll use this blog to keep you connected to what I’m doing and hopefully help you out with ideas and tips along the way.
I’m constantly learning new things in my work and am happy to share them with others. Take some time, browse around and leave plenty of comments.
See you on the blog!
