An Angel’s Prayer

When I read this poem from a friend last week, I knew I had to share it with you.  Thankfully, she agreed to letting me post it here.  Its message spoke to my heart.  It reminded me of those in my life who I will miss this holiday season as they spend it in heaven.  And it reminded me that I have a Father in heaven who takes care of both them and me.  (I warn you that you may need some tissues.)

An Angel’s Prayer
By: Valerie Hendrix

I see the million Christmas trees around the world below.
With tiny lights, like heaven’s stars, reflecting on the snow.
What I see is so magnificent! Please wipe that tear away.
Because I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ today.

So many beautiful Christmas songs I’m hearing way up here,
But to hear the angel’s chorus, there is nothing to compare.
There are no words to describe the way the angels sing,
For the conductor of this chorus is our amazing King.

I know you miss me a whole bunch,
I see the pain it brings,
But I am not so far away,
for I have you resting on my wings.

So be happy in this time;
The view up here is one to see,
I’m having Christmas with Jesus,
and I’m sitting on His knee!

I am always with you
and in your heart is where I stay.
For you to heal and overcome this
is what I pray for each and every day.

I have seen your future and it is grand,
more amazing than you know.
I have asked God to bless you
and blessings He will show!

Please love and keep each other,
as our Father said to do,
For I can’t count the blessings
or love He has for you.

So have a wonderful Christmas
and wipe that tear away,
I’m spending Christmas with Jesus
and here is where I want to stay.
